Thanks! I truly appreciate it. Thanks! Pretends to appreciate it. No, thanks! I don't appreciate it. Thanks, but no thanks, Ignore it altogether. Here's the well-meaning person who gives advice whether it is wanted or not. Sometimes, it feels like more of an ego boost for the one giving the advice rather than for the good of the receiving person. Makes them feel like a wise sage imparting unsolicited advice to the lost one. I had my fair share of unwanted advice from not so close relatives (well, I've never been close to them anyway), to people who call themselves "my friend" even if it's only seasonal, heck, even mere acquaintances. And I feel it's more of meddling with my personal affairs rather than "helping". Worst, some are just straight forward brags pretending to be humble good-doers. I'm not saying I don't listen to any advice at all or appreciate those who are trying to help, it's just that sometimes that's how I feel about it. In the end, it is the advice of people who matters to me, that often matters too. I may not necessarily follow but certainly I also don't just throw everything out in the window either. Know who to listen to and know who really has good intentions for you. Photo by Nadir sYzYgY on Unsplash
