We finally got the green signal to hire! Just for one, but still good. One of our employees in another state is retiring. That area is a high-traffic location in terms of our operations and movement. We cannot not have someone fill his job. Overtime is also an option, but it will not help, we really need someone to be on that job. After much preparation of reports, time-value and cost analysis, the higher ups saw the need from our perspective and gave us the go signal to post the job and hire. I was excited that we will be able to hire again, albeit it's only for 1 position for now. I actually spent way past the end of my shift by completing the job posting just so we can get our recruiter started on the posting and pooling of applicants.
