My butt wants a bidet

My friend has a bidet in one of her bathrooms that she loves. I took the opportunity to try the bidet for myself this weekend while I was pet-sitting at her house and now my butt wants a bidet
Seriously, America, get with the program! Bidets are awesome!
She (friend) says they are easy to install and the one she got is only $40. I am seriously considering getting one and installing it for my bathroom. I already try to limit the amount of toilet paper I use because I am definitely the "let it roll" type of toilet paper er.. consumption-ist? (consumer) Yeah, look at me making up words.
Anyway..
Bidet or Bi-don't?
I'm sorry.. I'm a bit of a dork if you haven't realized by now.

I know they aren't for everyone. I felt so much cleaner after using the bidet.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I would give one a try before I bought one.

@CarolDM Right, that's what I would recommend for sure.

I don't really see the appeal in it, honestly. I doubt getting sprayed on the butt before getting off the throne really does anything more than make your butt wet, which you'd have to either dry or walk around with a wet butt until it dries naturally.

I guess it might depend on the model and how the bidet is installed, but you don't walk around with wet cheeks or anything. Atleast I didn't when I tried it.

I have no idea what a bidet is or what it's for.

I have always wanted to try a bidet. I love the idea of less consumption of waste. My grandma goes through so many rolls in a month, where for my bathroom it takes like over a two weeks to go through 1 roll. I have no idea what she does in there haha America really needs to switch over to bidets, especially for places who still deal with septic tanks! You think it would be more popular then.

I try to just use two or three squares per trip to the loo, but I can see where your grandma might go through a lot just because it's easy to spin too much off the roll.
The water is really cold, but it also only stings for a second. I loved that I could change the way the water pressure too. I hope one day they'll be a lot more popular.

@DesirousDreamer I feel like you're right, in the next few decades it will be all bidets. I know there are some that use un-toilet paper and I've considered that. It's basically just flannel or other types of cloth that is used and washed.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Gotta teach her to fold and not wrap around her hand! That's her problem haha even scrunching doesn't take that much.
It would be so much better for the environment to use bidets, probably in the next few decades, it could switch over.

I think it is one of those things that require getting used to. The water that comes from it is very cold.

@thelme55 I am not sure if the temperature of the water can be changed or not. That might be possible on more expensive models.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Oh! Then, I would not like it because of the cold water. A few of my friends have bidets but I have not asked them about it.
