I am having a bad time now in the office.
One of my colleague in my office has been backstabbing me infront of my boss. The worst part is my boss believed her and confronted me for the rumor he had heard.
Whether it is true or not, is another issue. What I couldn;t understand is, what does she gain from backstabbing me?
I know what I should do now but it will be a harsh movement.

You are right, she was darn jealous of my friendly relationship with my boss. She wanted to replace me and it was worthless to talk to her because behind my boss back, she was cursing and swearing, bad mouthing. She is a 2 head snake

That's very unfortunate. But guess, we have such people who stoop to low levels. Better to avoid them. But here you need to confront. They should not be left at times.

That's because she's trying to gain favor and have been jealous of what you have or do. I would confront her and ask why she did that. I would explain to my boss with proof if that's not the case. If my boss were an idiot to continue to believe her and she still do that, I might ignore them all or find another job. I might also be wondering whether the two are together as he trust her that much to ignore everything else.

I hate those like that. It is sad that the boss is taking her side and not believing you and the boss should not take any side. Is she up for promotion and it is between the two of you or could you be more popular than her at work and so she is jealous and wants to get back at you so makes of things about you and takes it directly to the boss.

I agree with you. She wasn't a confirm staff yet so she was trying hard to win over my boss trust by backstabbing me

@peachpurple why it would be dangerous? Your boss will know the truth?

Can't understand too why some people find enjoyment in destroying someone's image. Personally I see this as signs of insecurity and envy for if you are happy and contented with what you have then why waste time finding means to maligned others? Karma is just around the corner..

There some people who are doing that so that they would get the trust of the higher official. It would be an added points for them. Ask your boss to meet you and your colleague so you can settle the issue.

I report it to HR so they have something in writing and they can investigate. I will build a case against the co-worker until they have nothing but just meaningless gossip of an unhappy colleague.
Or do nothing and better myself - the best revenge is to be successful and let them to their own dirty tricks and tactics. See if this will help them in their career. Worse case scenario, I will start finding other workplaces that will value me and what I can bring to the table. Then file a hostile workplace case against the boss for allowing this to continue.
