Our Christmas Pudding was a Flop!

I don't know why, but this year our Christmas Pudding just was awful. It was a light brown in color and it was almost tasteless. It should be heavy on the spices and almost black in colour. Unfortunately, it didn't turn out that way. We tried it last night and nearly tossed the entire thing in the garbage. And then hubby got the brilliant idea to make bread out of it. I have no idea if it will work, but the kitchen certainly does smell pretty good. What he did to make bread out of it, I haven't a clue. I generally clear out when he is in the kitchen... The kitchen is big enough for just one person or you trip over each other, so I just left him to it. When it's my turn to bake, he clears off and leaves me to whip up my masterpiece lol. Whether the bread turns out, is still to be determined lol. I will let you know. And while I have your attention... does your husband liked to cook??

I have no idea how it got it's name. I can't even think of anything to compare it to. It's like a very dense cake usually made in a ball that is cut in small pieces and then hot custard is poured over it.

My husband did, now he just doesn't. He complains about it, but I really don't want to wait hours for him to cook something because he prefers the low and slow method. I do all the cooking, and he gets agervated by the microwave.

Good thing that you do like to cook... or he would likely starve ;) When hubby retired, he had nothing better to do, so that became his hobby!

I don't think he would starve, but he might burn himself or something. @Hate2Iron

He doesn't like to cook; but he will do it once and a while using my recipes. Let us know how the bread turned out.

It turned out good!! I plan on having some with coffee in about a half hour. So, chances are good that we will have another loaf to look forward to when this one is gone.

I don't know what happened this year. We generally make our own every year and no problem at all!

I really don't care to cook. Probably been such a long time, I have forgotten most. Hubby seems to have the knack and likes it so I let him.
