Five New Jersey children save two young kids from a frozen pond

Richard Heid and his wife Stephanie Irlbeck are thankful that five Middletown New Jersey teenagers who were at the right place at the right time when they took action to rescue eight year old Olivia Heid and her four year old brother R J Heid who were sledding in a country club when the sled flew over a ridge into an icy pond. Kieran Foley who was one of the five teenagers credited his training in the Boy Scouts to take action by going into the icy pond to pick up RJ first then hand him to his four partners who formed a human chain to have the children get out of a dangerous spot. Olivia was the second child who was rescued from the icy pond to reunite with her parents who were nearby at the time of the incident which had a happy ending thanks to the five teenagers who proved that teamwork in times of danger saved their children from a tragic pre Christmas ending. The five teenagers were invited by some of the news media to share their story on television. I am sure that.in the future the parents of Olivia and R J Heid will be more careful to take care of their children when they are riding on a sled.
