Teens have a tendency of all we know

I have been in teaching for 20 years and been with teens. I found most of the teens have a tendency of that they know everything and can do anything, they fear not about anything. Most of them are rapacious and ruthless.
They have energy and dynamism but only a few can put their energy into right way to make their life.
On the other hand some teens are dull and depressed and they are often moody.
What things make them change their way they are
Can we tame them to be a good planners of their life

Dull, depressed and moody it can happen sometimes when the brain is rewiring it happened to me I had severe depression since leaving high school and hormones evening out (for the most part) it has settled (for the most part... kinda... not really) better than I was...
