My Monday is very hectic. I was at work at 6am this morning, and already I am being pulled in a lot of different directions. I am in charge of other locations, so my phone has been ringing off the hook. I have hundreds of emails to plow through, people sending me instant messages with issues expecting "instant" resolutions. Then I have people walking in my office, some without an appointment and expects me to drop everything for them.
Thank goodness I did not schedule any meeting on the first Monday of the new year.
I made a lunch date with my husband, but I forgot that we will be interviewing applicants at 11:30 a.m. I have to tell him to go on without me as I am not sure what time we will be finished. We wrapped up at around 1:45 pm, and I have time to step out to grab my lunch. While trying to eat in peace, my phone keeps ringing still. Unfortunately, I have to send all calls to my voicemail. I simply cannot NOT eat my lunch, it is one of the luxuries that I make sure I get to enjoy. Otherwise, I will be burned out.
I am back to work around 2:30 pm. And as if they can smell me, they are at it again - emails, calls, instant messages, text messages. Then lots of issues brought to my attention that I need to personally handle. Around 5:10 pm, I decided I have stayed in the office long enough and it is time to call it a day. As I walk out, 2 employees stopped me with more issues. It just never ends!
When I got home, the husband surprised me because he is washing the dishes left this morning. He has no idea how that sight made him even more attractive to me. In return, I made him dinner of stir-fried vegetables with leftover ham.

We are in the same situation. I have been so busy since yesterday, the first day of work until today. Just hoping that I can finish all the tasks.

Yes, this is the downside of taking some time off for the holidays, or even vacation.
As for my husband, he does not usually help me. He is also busy doing his own thing, but when knows that I had a long day at work, he makes it a point to be on my good graces.

This is one of the reasons why we have to plan vacations. And my husband only helped me out because he knows that I had a very busy day. Usually he is already doing his own thing, but he sure knows when to do something to be on my good graces.

Mondays after any holiday can be a real pain. Seems like this Monday is on a trend for being bad all around.

I do not envy you Raine, but I suppose it is better to be busy than boring.
