Beat My Alarm Clock

I woke up an hour before my alarm, and I do not know how I feel about it. I am now seated here in our living room with a cup of coffee and my pad. I went to bed between 10pm-11pm, so I can imagine I should be still sleepy. For some reason, I can no longer sleep some more. Normally, I will wake up to my alarm blaring. I also have a back up alarm in case I decided to indulge in a few more minutes of sleep. Then during the weekend, I have every intention of sleeping in. Of course, no alarm is set but I still wake up around the same time anyway. It irritates me how I can easily get up early when I do not need to.

I know the feeling. The body is its own clock. It decides when you're rested enough or not.

@Raine38 I have learned it's better if I make an effort to listen to my body. After all we are a well-oiled self-heling machine. Our bodies will tell us what we need.

Indeed. And no matter how hard I try to go back to sleep, I simply can't do it.

I am used to getting up early in the morning. So on weekends too I can't drag to be in bed for too long. I guess it's our biological rhythm that is more accurate than any alarm

@Raine38 it is hard to do but it is best to sleep and wake up at the same time. This keeps your body clock working regularly.

@allen0187 Absolutely. I remember when I have to work during at night just once. It messed up my internal clock and I find it very tiring to even go switch back to days again.

That's good to be able to wake up like that. I have to drag myself out of the bed these days.

Sometimes I don't like it. Like waking up two minutes before my alarm sets off. I will be like, why can't you let me sleep for two more minutes?

It also happened to me this morning because I slept early last night since there was no internet. But tomorrow, I might need my alarm clock again.

@Raine38 If I am too tired, I might wake up late. Though oftentimes, I wake up just in time or a few minutes earlier. Alarm clock is just a reminder but I don't rely too much on it. My body is programmed to wake up early.

@ARIES1973 Good for you, that is very helpful. Unfortunately for me most days I have to rely to my alarm clock.

In my case, it does not matter whether I slept earlier in the night or later. I always somehow end up waking up around the same time. Sometimes it annoys me that I wake up two minutes before my alarm sets off.

Our bodies have their own inner clocks. They wake up whether we want to or not.
