Talk about courage the apostles lack, probably never more vivid when they did find themselves trapped in a boat amidst the raging waters. Could be a foreshadowing of the cowardice these circle of men who supposedly walked with our Lord and yet found themselves terribly afraid, without a firm faith on the Rabbi they dined and slept with, when our Lord was seized for trial. This incident, sad to say, happened just after the miracle of the Multiplication of Bread and Fish, when our Lord manifested His Divinity. Interesting that most of the apostles where actually fisherfolks. The sea was their life. They breathe the waters. Still, the strong winds tossed the waters and had the better of them. They got afraid. And became more afraid when they saw what seemed to be a ghost. The Image was our Lord walking on the waters. Of course, our Lord calmed the sea. What could be moral of this episode in the lives of the apostles?

The moral lesson is be strong and have faith that no matter what happens we could make it with our creator by our side. We can not blame the apostles when doubt in them rose that time and got fear to try to be calm because they are just an ordinary human and during hardships we all get lost.

Andrew and Philip recognized him, as John the Baptist directed them to his cousin, the Messiah. Nathaniel knew the divinity because our Lord told him He saw him under the fig tree. Simon had a reckoning before he abandoned his profession to follow our Lord. The apostles lived with our Lord, a very privileged circumstance given them. They knew the Lord was God.
