Followers of Mr. Trump, you are being played.

Okay, so I realize that this post is probably a waste of electronic space, but I feel it important to post for anyone who might be a Trump follower who feels horrified by what happened in Washington on 01-06-21. I understand that most of those who follow and believe Mr. Trump are my friends, neighbors, and fellow citizens who love this country. While you feel let down by the election, you do not feel it a reason to destroy our democracy. Not everyone who stands at the rallies beside you agrees. Several factions (Proud Boys, Boogaloo, Neo Nazis, other white supremacists ) who absolutely do not support Trump are playing you because right now you are the most newsworthy group. You are newsworthy because of the lost election and Mr. Trump’s claims of fraud. You gather and protest, but these groups have joined you and they have no qualms about taking illegal actions to further their own agenda (namely overthrow of the US government). Here is a quote from a Reuter’s news service story “U.S. Capitol siege emboldens motley crew of extremists” : (See link below for full story) Mike Dunn, a 20-year-old follower of the “boogaloo” anti-government movement, lives in Virginia, said three or four groups of loyalists under his command helped storm the Capitol this week amid a motley mix of rioters who supported President Donald Trump’s attempts to overturn the results of the November presidential election. While most “boogaloos” are libertarians who largely oppose Trump, Dunn said the group embraced the moment to strike against the government. … Dunn said boogaloos would be “working overtime” to advance their cause. When asked whether boogaloos had planned to attack the Capitol, he responded: “Just know there is more to come.” We may disagree on the merits of Mr. Trump and his Presidency, and there is nothing wrong with that, it makes for useful discourse for the future. These groups, are not looking for the same end result as you. Democracy is not their aim, destruction of the American way of government is their goal. Neo-Nazi’s have the belief that there are no political solutions to their differences with the United States Government, only its destruction will satisfy them.

So does that make BLM neo-nazis, since they have claimed they want to "burn it all down and start over"? I think both sides are being played. And I find it frustrating that nobody can see the extreme double standard.

No, I would not think BLM = Neo-Nazi, However, believe it or not, we agree that both sides are being played. It's one of the reasons I state extremism, no mater what flavor is bad for this country. The players don't care about any side except their own and will use whatever they can to further their agenda. And yes, some in the BLM claim they are ready to chuck it all. Racism has long been a thorn in this country. It has festered ever since the civil war. Yet, it still exists and can be seen any which way one looks. Still this does not okay the destruction of property, violence perpetrated on others, or overthrow of a government.

@Genipher — I totally agree with you that both sides are “being played.” Fearmongering has long proved to be an excellent source of fundraising and control.

@cperry2 It's not "some" BLM members that want to burn everything and start over. It's the LEADER of BLM.

Talk about being played. Trump has claimed the election was stolen since, oh, July 2020. And yet, in over 50 lawsuits — some before the packed-by-Trump-appointees Supreme Court — he has won ZERO. Why? No evidence. (And the fact that the voting machine company is filing a defamation lawsuit to the tune of $1.2 billion against Trump’s lawyers also says something.....) I asked someone to prove — one piece of proof — that the election had been stolen (something that conservative icon Rush Limbaugh said in 2012 was impossible because of all the safeguards, then on Friday changed his mind). Instead of providing it, he went on a rant against Joe Biden. You know the old saying about if we don’t learn from history we’re condemned to repeat it. The next thing on the playlist to make this identical to 1920s Germany is for Trump to go to prison and write a book while he’s there. Biden’s not my choice (I’d rather have Jo [Jorgensen] than Joe), but I am an American and I’m not renouncing my citizenship because of who’s occupying the White House.

@cperry2 — she’s the perennial Libertarian party candidate for either president or Vice President. I like libertarianism: as Tim Wilson described it, “leave my money alone and smoke all the pot you want!”

Well stated. I too wish there had been another choice for President Biden would not be my first choice.. I think I would like to have seen Larry Hogan of MD or Andrew Como of NY in the chase. (I know nothing about Jo Jorgensen)

@FourWalls That's pretty extreme, it is exceedingly hard to get anything done when one is busy chasing down munchies or laughing their as* off at nothing.. I guess I am moderate and more main stream but I do not adhere to any particular political system. If it looks and feels right, I will go with it. When things start excluding large groups of people for whatever reason, I tend to go against it.

Both sides are being played and there are infiltrators on both sides. Makes it hard to know who to trust. The only ones on either side that disturb me are the ones who can't get their eyes open and see this. But it is all coming to light and it needs to. In the end everything will be alright and if it isn't alright then it isn't the end.

I think we agree here. There is infiltration on both sides. I look to the skin head who joined in the peaceful march in Portland, and was caught breaking a window. (They called him umbrella man.) I believe these anti Democracy groups are playing everyone. Too many people look away.
