What do you think happened?

I stayed at a hotel with my boyfriend. Took a mental health break from my extremely toxic family. Anyways, I left our room to go down to the vending machines to get something to snack on. On my way back up, this man called me from down the hall. I kept walking but he called me again and I realized his voice sounded closer so I turned around and said "what?" Lol it may have sounded rude but like, he was calling me "miss" from down the hall and I didn't know what he wanted so I didn't wanna seem too friendly. Anyways, he asked if I had a lighter. I simply said "I do not have one, sorry." Then he smiled and did this wink-like thing with his face and walked away. I rushed down the hall to my room. Anyways, like 30 minutes later, my boyfriend and I were talking and we heard a knock. I got up to go see who it was, obviously. It was the guy that asked me for a lighter. I told my boyfriend and he answered the door and the guy said "nah my bad bro" and walked off. I feel like he followed me to my room, or peeped where my room was. He definitely thought I was alone. Do you guys think I'm overreacting? It freaked me out because I turned around multiple times walking back to my room and that guy was nowhere to be found!

I wanted to but my boyfriend thought the hotel would hassle me about it so I didn’t. I was gonna ask for security footage.

Maybe he wanted to introduce himself to you that is why he follows you into your room,

I understand that but that’s absolutely not the way to do it. He should’ve introduced himself when I was in the hallway. He was not invited to my room therefore he had no reason to knock. I ended up leaving early because I was so scared

Probably some kind of creep. If I'm being honest. If he didn't take the hint when you ignored him, I can bet he was going to do far worse. At least, seeing your boyfriend got him to finally back off. You could've been seriously hurt, otherwise.

He wants to befriend with you. You should treat him nicely. And talk to him about yourself. Then it ends up well.

He got attracted to you because you are pretty, of course you were frightened because of the manner he approached you, however walking alone in a place where no one is around is a big no. There are not so many bad guys taking advantage of the situation
