I received a memo requiring me to submit some documents as requirements for my current promotion at work. I went to another city to process the documents. I discovered that the Civil Service Commission has a new way of processing documents because of the pandemic. Previously, the process of authenticating documents would only take several minutes but since it's pandemic, it might take 3 or more days because they would let the clients drop their documents inside a box and they will only open the box after 3 days. I am required to submit the document on Monday, January 18. So I requested if I could have a receipt for my payment so I can show it instead. At first, they refuse to give me a receipt and asked me to place the payment inside the envelope but I insisted that I need a receipt and I don't leave the office until they issued one for me. I also went to my school so that I can have my diploma and transcript authenticated. It took me a few minutes to finish my transaction with the school. It was a long and busy day and I am thankful that at least I was able to complete some of my requirements. But there are still other documents that I need to prepare. I hope everyone is having a great day!

@Shavkat Ha ha. My salary is not yet enough to hire a personal secretary.

Our government offices are slow to process not only during this time of the pandemic.

Not all government offices are like this. When people come to us requesting for LOE, we immediately process the document and as long as they have the requirements, they can have it in less than 10 minutes.

@ZedSmart We are a national government agency. We see to it that clients won't wait for long.

It is sad that this pandemic made the already slow process even slower. On the good side, you are getting promoted! So all is well, congratulations!

Again, congrats! But why do you need to submit documents? Didn't they already have that you apply for the job?

Yes, I already submitted those documents when I applied for the job. But they want to have the recent update. They will be submitting these documents to the Civil Service Commission.

Thank you. I am happy though I am expecting to get a higher position but perhaps, this is the only one that fits my current qualifications. I'll just work harder and probably increase my graduate studies so I can qualify to a much higher position with higher salary. But at least the management recognize my efforts. it means I still have the chance.

For my promotion before to school principal, I just submitted all the pertinent to the personnel department of our division and they process it. I just wait for the advice paper and approved appointment from the CSC.

Actually, everything would be much easier if not of the pandemic. It would only take a few minutes to authenticate a document. But because of the current situation, they need to place the document inside a box for 3 days. I also remember when I started, the office did not even required an authenticated copy. I just submitted the original and a photocopy. Now, everything should be authenticated. I understand the reason behind this and I am willing to comply.

@Nakitakona Everything is okay now. My husband offered to submit my documents to our regional office and pick up the authenticated eligibility at the Civil Service Office.

@ARIES1973 okay. That's the real situation nowadays. We have to be adjusted and adapted to that system.
