I've read the article regarding the number of Filipinos that are getting married every year and how many each day. There are different aspects of why some couples are not getting married as they reason out that it is too expensive to get married, and this was even shocked me in a sense that most people have this extravagant mentality about church wedding up to now. Where in fact some known churches are even offering the simple wedding that you don't even need to wear gowns, have entourage and the style is like a civil that you can have private wedding where you can just have few visitors. Up to the point that they won't even get married legally or just living in because they don't save that much for the wedding. I have too many perspective regarding the concept of wedding and marriage. Some people doesn't really have the wide concept about the marriage itself and as for the wedding I have this feeling that up to now they are still focusing on bragging purposes rather than valuing the celebration of being legal in marriage. Maybe some couples especially women were still dreaming to have extravagant wedding even if they cannot afford. The sad thing about the wedding preparation some people will also intervene the to the plans up to the point that they can easily ruin it and saying so much negative things rather than valuing the sanctity of marriage.
