Just Devastated...

Last night my worst nightmare happened. My laptop crashed. And for some reason a Bit Locker was added without me knowing it. And I don't have the 48 code to unlock it. So I may have lost all my artwork, and all my photos all over again. All those years and months of a hard work gone. I do have someone looking into it, and I have hopes that he can at least get the operating system running so we can retrieve my data. When we do a test on the hardware everything comes up fine. So it appears that was went bad was actually somethingin the booting system and partitions. But with it being encrypted the way it is, even if the hard drive is good, I may not be able to get my data off the old hardrive. Unless the old data can be transferred onto the new harddrive, which will be installed within the next week or so; I will be shedding a lot of tears for a very long time. Dell is sending somebody out to put in a new harddrive. But they will not transfer my data to my new harddrive. So I have to hire somebody else to do that.

Not good at all. Not that I actually know anything about it. Hope it gets resolved well.

Oh that is horrible! You didn't have your data backed up I guess?? Important stuff should always be .

I thought it was backed up in cloud, but apparently it wasn't. Photos off my phone were, but not my laptop.

I am so very sorry. I hope you had a backup. I do an external backup at least once a week. Good luck.
