Been walking back and forth pondering about something good to write. Was thinking about the Feast of the Child Jesus or the Holy Orders in the line of Melchizedek as read in the liturgy of the past two days.
After checking the news, I was once again propelled into despair. There was an indignation rally against CoViD lockdown in Vienna. A clash between Hondurans and Guatemalans broke at the border, the caravans of migrants desperately fighting entry to the United States.
People are intensely angry that they resort to violent acts. Like this one - a Tunisian shepherd constrained by the police.
It seems the wounded and the troubled have no other recourse but wrath.
A second night of protests has rocked several cities in Tunisia, despite a government-imposed lockdown. They were sparked by a video showing a police officer ...

I guess there is another sort of transformation happening around the world. If you would compare this a hundred years ago this also is the time when there was also a pandemic spreading across the world and at the same time WWI was brewing around this time. I just hope there are no more big wars in our present time.

@eileenleyva Yeah we missed a few years but it looks uncannily similar happening almost a century ago. We are just not in the midst of a world war but country is in turmoil almost everywhere.

History has it World War 1 commenced in June 1914 when Archduke Franz Ferdinand was assassinated by Gavrilo Princip. The mingling of soldiers plus mixture with animals was deemed the cause of the epidemic that started sometime December 1916. Became a pandemic because of the movement of the soldiers. It was called Spanish Flu because only Spain wrote about the flu. Our Lady appeared in Fatima in 1917 to three children. She said the war would soon end. I didn't know Jacinta and Francisco were casualties of the pandemic, too. Hu hu.

@rsa101 Haven't you've noticed that the world has been at war #3 for a year now?

When you try to pin people down and threaten their liveyhood, of course the only thing they can do is lash out. America isn't much better. For months, we've been finding one excuse after another to protest and riot. It's sad, really.

True. The world has gradually become autocratic/plutocratic.
It's like reality imitating fiction - as in 1984 or Hunger Games.

@eileenleyva I know what you mean. I just don't understand how humans continue to do this to each other.

@kaylachan Biblically, Saul was the first anointed king. But when it was time for him to dethrone, he couldn't part with power. It's lust for power. These men would sell their souls to the devil for that power.

Our land is in relatively peaceful condition despite the plutocracy.
Yet you are correct, we must constantly pray.
