Everyone wants to say goodbye to Trump, but not in person!

It appears that efforts to get a crowd together to wave Donald off to Florida tomorrow are not going well. Invitations were issued to dozens of staffers and other Trump associates to gather at Andrews Air Base to give him a rousing send-off. However, it seems that very few people are going to accept the invitation - and even fewer will take up the offer to bring up to five friends or family members with them! The fact that this will apparently all take place at virtually the crack of dawn might have had something to do with it, or maybe people simply don't want to be seen as being associated with the doubly-impeached departee. Doubtless Trump will come up with a similar line to the one he used at his own inauguration back in 2016 - namely that he attracted a vastly larger crowd than turned up to welcome his predecessor, Barack Obama, although this was clearly a blatant lie. On this occasion he might be right to say that more people turned up to wave him goodbye than did so to cheer Joe Biden at the Capitol - ignoring the fact that this time the inauguration will have to be crowdless due to security and Covid -19 factors. But when has the truth ever got in the way of a good bout of self-congratulation as far as the Donald in concerned?

It will be interesting to see how many turn up to say goodbye. Some might turn up just to say "good riddance"!

Hey, he broke more Elton John records than anybody!

I cannot stand Elton John - he's British, so why does he sing in a fake American accent? - so the option to break a few of his records would be very welcome!

@indexer — he just wanted to sell records. And he did.
