I am curious friends, what do you consider the first real job experience of your life? I don't mean household chores, I mean employment. To me, a real job is a job w/some stability, a steady gig as it were, that provides you with income/resources to be self sufficient in daily life....and, go!

I flipped hamburgers in high school at a Krystal.

@CarolDM I wish we had a Krystal here, wouldn't mind working there. I ate at one when I was w/my dad in GA in my early 20's, great food. Even flipping burgers would be better than many things I've tried.

@jnrdutton I loved the food at the time. Have not been to one in years. And I did not mind working there and making my own money.

I worked and paid my bills while at university; but it was a long list of jobs. Two in the summers, one during term and always changing. Restaurants, retail, post office, door to door vacuum sales, etc.

I worked at a local dry cleaners for about a year after high school a few days a week. I had the opportunity to work during the school year, but my father was one of those types who wasn't fond of the idea of me taking cabs. So yeah. I didn't.

I worked in a library when I turned 14...first as a page, then I worked at the front desk. The pay was $.70 per hour!

My family had laundromats growing up, I started working in them when I was like eleven. Honestly it was a good experience though I could never figure out why someone would want to steal the trash bags out of the trash can. In High School, I cleaned the Triple A building, and I did a lot of babysitting!

I worked as Journalist when I was in University, and that was so difficult. Moreover, it was in raining season and I need to go out every single day to find news.
