A Long Drive Before Taking the Oath of Office

We had an activity which started on Monday. In the afternoon, my colleagues asked me if they can come with me as they also plan of going home? The venue of the activity would take me around 45 minutes or so of driving. The next morning, one of my colleagues and I drove back to the venue from our place. It was a rainy day so I drove slowly. Upon reaching the place, my superior told me that I need to report to the regional office to take the oath in front of our regional director. Meaning, I need to drive back to my place and another hour going to the regional office. That was really a short notice but I need to obey. I must be at the regional office at 1 PM. I reached the office at 1:15 in the afternoon and I was worried that I was already late. But when I get to the hall, the program has not yet started. I was just in time. The program started after a while and I received a loyalty award for being in the service for 10 years. Afterwards, promoted and newly appointed employees took oath before the regional director. I am happy for this little achievement. I promise to myself to work harder and get the next higher position. I might enroll again in graduate program to increase my educational qualification. Thank you. Thankfully, the weather now is good. The sun is shining already. Actually, I am trying my best to start a small business that could give me additional income. If I could get some sources that could sustain, I would probably avail of the early retirement. As you know, the minimum retirement is only 15 years and we can already retire. However, if I could not establish a good business, then probably, I will continue until age 60 or 65 depending on my health. So far, I don't have any health issues as of now and I hope it will continue this way.

@ARIES1973 so if you retired after 15 years of service, you plan to go full time into business? did you ever work for the private sector before this job? you could end up with 2 pensions
