New York Police Department Harbor Rescue Story

A good news story from New York City where members of the New York Police Department Harbor Patrol were in the area at Jamaica Bay where a female dog Tinkerbell was struggling to stay afloat on Wednesday morning.
The harbor patrol officers used their skills of rescuing the dog from the bay and getting her aboard the boat where she was taken to a local animal hospital where she was given an exam.
After Tinkerbell was given a clean bill of health by the veterinarian, Tinkerbell's owner was called by the veterinarians to give him the good news that his dog was ready to come home.
I am just wondering how did Tinkerbell wind up in Jamaica Bay in the first place?
At least her owner can thank the harbor police for saving his dog on Wednesday morning in New York City.

Poor Tinkerbell I don't know but it sounds like she could have been thrown into the bay, Before the dog gets into any more trouble I think they should question the owner about how the dog wound up there in the first place

That is what I am thinking since maybe the owner or a stranger tossed Tinkerbell into the bay.

Dogs can wonder from their owners. It's not unheard of, but that does seem like a bit of a distance to travel.

@Deepizzaguy Yep. We may never know the cause. But, stranger things have happened.

You are right since it is possible that Tinkerbell might have been chasing something that caused her to get into the bay like a ball or bone.

I am sure that the authorities will be asking the owner of the dog why his pat was doing in the bay.

Dogs just do not jump into bodies of water for the fun of it that I know of.

I hope Tinkerbell didn't get tossed into the Bay. That owner should be punished to the full extent of the law if that was the case. I'm so glad she was rescued.

If the owner tried to get rid of his pet, he is in trouble with the law. I hope that is not the case since I love dogs.
