From the Gospel of Mark we learn today that our Lord Jesus called the twelve apostles:
Simon whom he called Peter
James and John
Andrew and Philip
Bartholomew and Matthew
Thomas and James of Alpheus
Thaddeus and Simon the Cananean
Judas Iscariot who betrayed Him.
It is important to note that our Lord called them by their names and made them His.
Which brings to mind how important our names are also because by our names our Lord will call to make us His.
Here's a song to reflect upon how much our Lord wants to call and own us.

In India we give a lot of importance to name. It should be meaningful as it is supposed to influence the personality of the child. Our traditional names were mostly related to God and goddess.

@eileenleyva Arunima comes from Arun..Arun is my father's name. Arun means Sun... It's another name given to Sun God. In Hinduism all natural powers are treated as God and worshipped. Arunima is the first ray of morning sunshine. It's a blessing for a new day

@arunima25 Such a good explanation of a beautiful name. "First ray of morning sunshine" - wow! You are a bringer of light and warmth. You fill the senses. You are a joy bringer. Your folks must have felt that when you were born.

It's from Isaiah 43: 1 O Israel: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine.'
