St. Louis resident 11 year old Jayden Groves is one young man that received the Heroism Award from the St. Louis Fire Department recently in an outdoor ceremony which was attended by his relatives at the headquarters at the fire department.
Jayden is credited for saving the life of his 22 month old brother when his younger sibling walked away from his family at Hyde Park since his younger brother went into a pond and he was must have collapsed into the pond face down.
Jayden was able to get his baby brother away from the pond, place him on the grass while his family members began using CPR to revive the stricken child while Jayden ran to the local fire station which was close to the park to ask for help from the firefighters to use their life saving skills to revive his younger brother.
The firefighters were able to get Jayden's younger brother to a local hospital where the child made a full recovery.
What makes this story interesting is that the incident happened in August. Five months later Jayden receives his award which goes to show of all of us that good deeds will be rewarded in due time.

It's a good thing he acted and that his younger brother is alive and doing well.

Thank goodness Jayden had the maturity to help in a crisis situation.
