So each time the kids have a birthday my husband and I let the kids pick there special treat. So one year on my daughters 5th birthday she picked ice cream she had said she wanted and ice cream cake. Mine you she is 5 at that time and we had shown her some ice cream cakes but she said no she wanted ice cream cake. Translated into toddler talk was a tub of chocolate and vanilla ice cream with candles in. Lol yeah that is what she meant. So as requested she sat in a high chair we lite 5 candles.

I see absolutely nothing wrong with your daughter's request she made at age 5. I'd even make that request at age 75. Ice cream is always a good choice on one's birthday!

Wow, I bet she had a ball. My daughter's request was a cake with no icing. Picture that a child that does not like icing.

I can picture it very easily. I don’t like frosting or icing either and I never eat it on a cake. I always scoop it off.

Yep! We don’t always go for the traditional cake or cupcakes. We do that for parties because you know kids want that at party. But at home on there special day it’s self just want them to have what they want to eat.
