Yahoogroups went down

What are your feelings about the fact that Yahoogroups went down? Here in Jerusalem we used to use them for small businesses to communcate to English speaking customers in each neighborhood. Has this caused a problem in your community? What are you doing about it?
So I have taken it upon myself to help the city residents and open up new groups, one on groups.io and more on google groups. There are a few people who have signed up so far. . .

No, that is still in operation, this was a platform that people could hook up into groups and use the groups for different purposes, and keep in touch via e-mail. This was even before Facebook Groups, and could have been the inspiration for that function on Facebook.

I have a Yahoo email account that I used along with gmail.com account. But the yahoogroups were the most useful. Now I have to start the groups over again.

@Matamu Yahoo must have felt that with all the other social media like Facebook and Twitter people wouldn't want to have e -mail messages every day.But there are many people who like the service, and there are a fair amount of members for each of the neighborhoods groups.
