Day 168
Promise 629
Ephesians 4:31 Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamor, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:
32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.
You don’t need to look far to see evil in the world. It’s everywhere. In your home, your workplace, in tragic events. From childhood you’re told not to act that way, but with kindness and forgiveness.
Paul told the Ephesians to get rid of bitterness, wrath, anger, fighting, malice, and evil speaking. Instead, they were to show kindness, tenderness, and forgiveness because that’s how Jesus treated everyone.
The saying, ‘You make more friends with honey than vinegar’, comes to mind. People don’t want to be around others who are always angry and bitter about everything and want to exact revenge for how they are treated.
As Christians, Paul speaks to you too about how you are to act. When you put on the mind of Christ, you won’t act like the world but will show the love of Jesus everywhere you go.
Let kindness, tenderness, and forgiveness govern your life. Then you will know the love and compassion Jesus felt for everyone.
Let’s pray: Father, let me show Your heart to everyone I meet. Let kindness and compassion rule my life, and words of encouragement flow from my tongue. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
