Day 170 Promise 631 Ephesians 6:5 Servants, be obedient to them who are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ; 6 Not with eyeservice, as men-pleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart; 7 With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men: 8 Knowing that whatsoever good thing any man does, the same shall he receive of the Lord, whether he be bond or free. People want recognition for their work. They want to know they’ve done a good job. Some people only work well when they’re watched. Paul told the Ephesians to work well at all times, whether someone watched them or not. When they did, they would please God and He would reward their faithfulness. As Christians, you are to do your best work all the time. It shouldn’t matter if someone watches what you do. If they’re watching, they’ll see you doing your best work. If they’re not watching, they’ll recognize your work because you always do your best. 1 Corinthians 10:31 Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God. (KJV) People who only work to satisfy men, don’t find satisfaction in their work. If you work to satisfy God and yourself, you do your best work and people will see the quality of your work. Don’t be a man-pleaser. It doesn’t satisfy. Please God and you will always find satisfaction in everything you do. Let’s pray: Father, help me to do my best, not to please men, but to please You. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. Copyright © 28 January 2021 by Valerie Routhieaux Image courtesy of Pixabay
