tattoos on stomach

Do you have a tat on your stomach? Did it hurt to get it done?
My husband has our daughter's name, Lily, around his naval he said it hurt bad and brought tears to his eyes while it was being done, I have a small heart on the lower right side of my stomach even with my naval and it didnt hurt to get it done, the filling felt like a bee sting but that was about it

I really do not know.
I want a tattoo done on my shoulder. But my boy friend said it hurts a lot because they burn your skin. So i got scared. My friend has the tattoo done on his shoulder. He said it hurts, but the outcome of the hurt would be really good and you like it.But he said he cried when it burned as they is no anastheshia injection given. It is normal, you just get burned.
I want to have a tattoo, i think i will do it when someone says it doesnt hurt much.
