100 years ago today : Detectives shot by eggs

United States
February 1, 2021 9:43am CST
This was taken from the The Democratic banner. (Mt. Vernon, Ohio) 1898-192?, February 01, 1921 Found on chroniclingamerica.loc.gov No that's not what the actual headline says, but it sort of looked like it to me at first. I had to look up the definition for Yeggs and it's basically a burgular. Never heard the term before and don't know if it was considered derogatory or just slang in those days. Three detectives were shot while trying to defend Morton Bond Co. from thieves. Out of the three, two were suspected not to survive. Seems like a scene from the wild west, don't it?
