Day 182 Promise 644 Colossians 3:1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sits on the right hand of God. 2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. 3 For ye are dead, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory. If is a word usually seen alongside then. It’s also a dare word. If you can do something, prove it. Paul told the Colossian church ‘if’ they were in Christ, they needed to seek those things found in heaven where Christ sits at God’s right hand. He also implied ‘if’ they were dead to sin, then their lives were hidden with Christ. ‘Then’ when Christ appears, they would appear with Him in glory, heaven. As Christians, you alone know whether you are risen to life with Christ Jesus. If you are, then you are to seek those things which edify your life in Christ. You are not to seek earthly glory. When you are dead to sin through Jesus’ shed blood on Calvary, your life is hidden with God. You won’t want those things the world runs after. You will want what God wants for you. Then when Jesus returns for His church, you will be with Him. If you haven’t shown who you are in Christ Jesus, prove to those around you that your life has changed and you are alive in Christ Jesus, not dead in your sin. Don’t be afraid of what the world will think of you. Think about what God thinks of you and go after those things which edify the body. Then you will know the full weight of what it’s like to be dead to the world and alive in Christ. Let’s pray: Father, let my life show I am hidden with You.
