As Old as Time by Liz Braswell is a Disney twisted tale about Beauty and the Beast. Braswell takes the original story and just twists it a little. The tag line is What if it was Belle's mother that cursed the Beast? She interjects the original story with the twist and it really does keep your attention. You get a whole lot of back story about Maurice and Rosalind. That would be Belle's parents. It was awesome to see what they were like when they were younger, before Belle was even a thought. You also see what the Beast's kingdom was like before everyone forgot about it. The curse itself has changed as well. It comes to completion when Belle touches the rose. When she does this, the rose crumbles and things like spider webs start to grow around the castle. It traps and starts to pull the castle down. The end is even different as well but that you're going to have to read for yourself. It was different yet still the same. It was also a very good read. If you love Beauty and the Beast, you'll like this book. If you have never seen or heard of Beauty and the Beast, you will like this book. *picture from google
