The European Union is angry with the United Kingdom for being way ahead in Covid vaccinations. The E,U centralized system should have seen the E.U Parliament order enough vaccine for the whole of the European Union, all 27 countries. That did not happen. Instead most have gone without or had very little supplies. The French and Germans anticipated this before Christmas and quielty ordered their own stocks from around the world but because the U.K had got huge - and selfish - orders in last year there was not enough to go around in the E..U. The E.U even threatened supplied of the jab to the U.K, many of them made in Belgium. So far ahead were the U.K in vaccine development we even subsidized a French company to help make and develop their vaccine back in September to sell to us. Boris Johnson was criticized heavily for opting out of the EU vaccine program as part of the Brexit deal but how right he was. So, after we showed the E.U up they are responding with petty new export rules and more aggressive ones. They are banning British shellfish from being exported to the E.U over some obscure clean water health and safety act yet have no problem fishing in North Sea British waters , more polluted than an SNP MPs whatsapp account. They have also denied London trading rights around share trading in the E.U, meaning Amsterdam edged ahead as the new hub financial center of Europe. The Netherlands is also the lead E.U country when it comes to helping countries avoid tax, tax the E.U would rather like. These double standards will not be forgotten by the U.K.
