Without football and sport on the TV in the winter lockdown in the U..K I dont know what I would have done .I'm getting used to crowd noise and no fans and my team Manchester United are playing well this year with two good domestic cup runs. Champions and Europa League starts next week so that will be fun. VAR is still causing problems and, coupled with no crowds, away wins for all teams has risen from 30% in a normal season to 45%. Fans really do make a difference and so Premier League clubs need to remember that when coronavirus dies off. Liverpool lost 1 game all season last season to win the tittle but have lost 4 in the last two weeks alone! Without Van Djik they look lost, ubeaten at home for three years and thne losing three home games in a row this year. . Man United are also a one man team in the name of Bruno Fernandez but stronger than last season now Cavanni is getting used to English weather. Manchester City will win the league by ten points.

Last year during baseball season here the teams raised money for charities by letting people buy cardboard cutouts of themselves to “sit” in the empty baseball parks! As the season progressed I must say that they got better at the artificial crowd noise, even putting in some “boos” when the umpire made a bad call. Some places are allowing reduced capacity attendance at sporting events here, so there may be some attendance at baseball games this year. There’s plenty of room in most parks (with 40,000 capacity seating) for social distancing for 10,000 or so, depending on local regulations.

I have no interest in football whatsoever but the TV channels seem taken up by it. Interesting to learn that a home crowd is such an asset.
