This is a very interesting book about the history of Golf. I do not play golf or have any interest in the sport myself , but I brought this book because I am interested in any sort of history. During lockdown I have been sorting through my books and I found this one although I had forgotten I had brought it. It is a large reference book full of interesting information including artwork of people playing golf, old advertisements of golf clubs, golf balls and other equipment that a golfer would need. It also gives the reader some information about how and where golfing began to evolve as a sport. There are also diagrams showing how some of the golfing equipment was made in the past. Did you know that early golf balls were made of compacted feathers? The features that I found amusing were old pictures of golfers in their old fashioned golf clothes .

It is surprising what things were made from in the past before nearly everything could be made from plastic like it is today.
