International Childhood Cancer Day is Today!! / myLot

Hi guys, Hope you all are doing good. I am doing good too. I am sharing this with you which I also wasn't aware off frankly. It showed in my calendar in mobile. Today it's "International Childhood Cancer Day". This day was named in 2002 by Childhood Cancer International and since then it's celebrated every year across the World. We all know cancer is such a deadly disease. The recovery rate is very low as we all know once anyone has cancer. It's so difficult for adults to go through all that pain and trauma along with our family. I know many people close by who suffered and passed away due to cancer. The chemo therapy is so painful and costs so much money too. There has been many Hospitals in India providing treatment at nominal rate and many times it's free. I can't imagine how little children battles against it with sheer will and hope of getting better one day. My heart goes out to such children and for their parents. I just hope and wish that their comes a day when we have effective painless treatment for cancer.

It breaks heart of mine as an aunt of my niece if anything happens to her, if she falls or so. I know my parents feel like 10 times the pain if I am in pain. I just can't imagine the depth of pain the parents go through if their child goes through cancer. And God forbid if they're from poor or middle class families and can't afford the treatment. Oh God! I don't know. Tears will be coming for years, moving on might be difficult. It would just change the whole environment of home. I just hope everyone who's reading this, may you and your child be healthy
