If there is one word to describe Amanda Elementary lead custodian Kim Deaton who used to work as a former emergency worker in Preble County in Ohio used he skills to save the life of fifth grade student Cole Hanson Oliver who was choking on a cheese stick during lunch.
Kim used the Heimlich maneuver to get the cheese stick out of his body and save him from dying while eating a piece of food.
Cole was taken to a local hospital where he made a full recovery from his near death experience who will be able to return to school when classes resume on Tuesday.
One good thing about a person who knows basic first aid skills is that they are very valuable to assist persons who need someone to save them from dying when they choke on food.
