What things you consider while buying gifts??!! / myLot

Hi guys, Hope you all are doing good. I am doing good too. Personally I am not a fan of gifts. It's ok if I get it or not. I like to give gifts to my friends and family though. I keep in mind some points while buying gifts for someone i.e. as per their interests or hobbies, likes/dislikes, cost factor, idea behind gift, usage because many a times people gifts something which isn't useful much. I like to give it a thought of being a useful gift. Do you guys create your own gifts or buy from shops? What things do you consider while buying a gift for someone?? Do let me know about it. I don’t always have time to make things and some times making is more expensive then buying. But people don’t always tell me what they want or like or needs so then I get then whatever I feel like or they will get a gift card. My own kid are easy because I can take them to the store and tel them to pick something with in a price range.
