Day 196 Promise 661 2 Timothy 2:20 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honor, and some to dishonor. 21 If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honor, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work. People like to collect works of art. Some are beautiful and worth a lot of money. Some have only sentimental value. Some bring honor. Some bring shame. Likewise, people’s lives have value to the person they work with or they are useless and go from job to job. Paul told Timothy to get rid of those who led dishonorable lives so the body of Christ could be edified to good works. As Christians, you need to examine your life to know whether your life has value in the body of Christ. You need to get rid of everything that causes shame. Are your thoughts and actions above reproach or do you need to line them up to the Word of God? Who has control of your thoughts and actions? Can you say everything you do is right and good? Or are there areas you need to get rid of so you will be a vessel of honor Jesus can use for His glory? 1 Corinthians 14:40 Let all things be done decently and in order. (KJV) Let’s pray: Father, let my life be one of honor to bring You glory in everything I say and do. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
