Alex Smith made one of the greatest comebacks in the NFL and even in history this year.
His journey with the healing of his leg was an up and down roller coaster. It was on Facebook, actual footage of what he went through.
He was so optimistic though and he will admit that he wasn't always like that. His wife picked him up when he fell.
Yes, he made his come back this year and it wasn't just the physical that was worrying him.
It turns out that Washington didn't want him back. The locker room did not want him there. There are a lot of factors and we get that. Between covid and wondering if it was a good idea to put him back on the field, it was a tough choice.
To be a quarterback that is unwanted (because I still kind of believe that) but can still bring them wins is incredible.
Alex Smith is a good quarterback. He may not be the greatest but he is good. Maybe he should find a team that WILL welcome him.
Will he be in Washington this year? We don't know yet.
Will he retire now that he's played after he was injured so bad? We don't know.
I will be happy to report that news though. I can't wait to see what he does next. Whatever it is, it'll be great.
