I wonder who first write and/or posted this on the Internet--so far no luck finding out! Sounds like someone of my generation though I am sure everyone will say that! It is very hard to explain how different the world was in my generation from today! Though males may speak among themselves about females they never would use 4 letter words in front of them and yet females use the language themselves today!!

It's been around longer than that but she may have had the same thoughts!

Sounds like something George Carlin would say and I totally agree. Respect is hugely lacking these days.

@GreatMartin I only suggested him as a possibility. I prefer comedy without foul language.

I remember when kids only spoke when they were spoken to. They were polite to adults and would not harm someone who was older than they were. Now anything goes.

@GreatMartin Parents letting their kids do anything that they want and it they get caught you are the bad one for catching them.

Excellent-we should put this on the refrigerator. Or-maybe the front door! We were not allowed to call an adult by their first name-there had to be a Mr. or Mrs., now also Ms. or Mx. in front of the last name. No exceptions.

@GreatMartin Some people are very surprised when we show respect.

In my experience young women are worse than young men these days when it comes to swearing and misbehaving. It's almost as if they are trying their hardest to outdo men in that respect.

But it is 'okay', 'manly' for young men to do it and 'worse' when young women do it???? They ALL learn from adults!

@GreatMartin It's not okay for anyone to over do it. Profanity can be very effective if used sparingly. The problem is that many people use swear words almost every other word.

It's become cool to do this because this is what we've fed kids all their lives. I craved for good tv and entertainment and was offended very often! I stopped watching movies ! Nothing but offensiveness!! That's why I miss good shows like the Lawrence welk show!! Do you remember this show? Good and beautiful TV and Sunday evenings!!

It was a different world back then--I remember the whole outrage when on "I Love Lucy" when they wanted to use the word pregnant!
