How to eat a mango

There are several ways mangoes could be eaten. The one way that most use is to cut off the two cheeks, remove the sides of the stone and enjoy. Some peel and follow the same method There is yet another way where the mango is sucked and this leads to the juice dripping down. It is fun when there is a crowd doing this. Last but not the least scooping out balls using the melon baller and placing them on the skin. Adding some cream makes it exotic.

I often cut them into cubes and add them to fruit salad. Other ways can get messy - I have seen a suggestion to eat ripe mangoes in the bath LOL

I enjoy sucking it. And I do it very neat. When I was young, I would suck it well and then blow it and keep it back to trick my grandma. But now I am scared of some having worms. So I cut and check.

You will know if there are worms as the mango will get those black spots.

@arunima25 We cooked some mangoes from our earlier harvest. Did not find any stains on the outside Hope we have not eaten worms.

@allknowing Yes. That's a sign. But some get it close to seed inside and the mango looks healthy from out. I had one such experience. And so now a days I am careful

I usually would just slice, scoop and eat or cut the cheek's flesh into cubes. But if I want something else aside from just eating the fruit as is, I make desserts out of mangoes like Tapioca, icecream, ice candy, and cake. I also like making mango smoothies.
