Day 198 Promise 663 2 Timothy 4:8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also who love his appearing. Anticipation puts purpose in our step. It gives us something to look forward to. It puts meaning in our lives. Paul told Timothy he looked forward to a crown of righteousness from the Lord. He also told Timothy he would receive one too, and so would everyone who loved the Lord’s appearing. As Christians, do you look forward to your crown of righteousness? Do you wait for the day Jesus returns for His bride, the church? Do you keep yourself busy with God’s work? Your life should be one of anticipation if you are doing God’s work. You should know the signs of Jesus’ return and know His return is soon. Paul knew the signs of Jesus’ return. He also knew his time in God’s service drew to a close and he would see Jesus soon. He told Timothy he fought the good fight and kept the faith. He was ready to meet Jesus. 2 Timothy 4:6 For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. 7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: (KJV) Are you ready? Is your life an offering for the Lord? Let’s pray: Father, help me to be ready for Your return. Help me do Your work so I can anticipate the crown of righteousness You will give me when You return for Your church. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
