Poole Pottery

Several years ago while looking in a charity shop, I found and interesting looking plate. I saw that there was a mark on the back but I did not know what the mark stood for. The plate was not expensive so I brought it and when I got home I did some research on it. The plate had been made by the Poole Pottery and this is what started my interest in Poole Pottery. Of course I did not know anything about this pottery back then, so I decided to buy a reference book on the subject. I learned a lot from this book because it has easy to understand text and some lovely colourful images of this sort of pottery. The book also tells the history of the Poole pottery and it has photographs of the well known artists and designers who worked for the company.

Knowing the history of our possessions makes it more special. I look things up online quite often.

@DianneN It is surprising what we can learn from the internet, but we have to be aware that not all information online is always the truth. I am always being wary of fake news and old out of date information about people. The trouble with the internet is that people are always quick enough to post information but they do not always keep the information up to date.
