Constructive Righteous Anger

One time our Lord Jesus got angry was when He lashed out at the peddlers at the Temple, admonishing them harshly of turning His Father's House into a market place. This is what we call as constructive righteous anger. Emotions must be released. Our Lord seemed to have acted in an inappropriate way, using jarring language and scornfully overturning tables and merchandise. But was it inappropriate? No. This is what we call righteous indignation. Or simply - anger with justifiable reason. In modern lingo, it is natural for anyone to get angry with someone who is corrupt. It is not correct to keep mum if we see someone stealing from the nation's coffer. We get angry. This leads to denouncing what is immoral. Or what is morally wrong. Righteous anger, therefore, propels us to seek justice and restore integrity. Constructive righteous anger eliminates unjust social actions. Which means we are required to act accordingly when we see wrong.

We aren't required, so much as we should. Most people would walk away rather than confront a situation head-on. Acting while angery isn't always wise, either. Acting out of anger can cause a person to act in a way they normally wouldn't.

What if it is your house that is turned into a market place, and you come home one day seeing all sorts of livestock being sold there, would you not get angry?

@eileenleyva I would, but I would wait to act until I was calmer. I also don't think anger would be the first emotion to come to mind, either. Shock and disbielief. Anger might come when I found out why and fully understood what had happened.

@kaylachan I didn't know anger could be suppressed. My neighbor came home and saw a truckload of sand in her front yard. She went ballistic.
