Have you ever heard of the saying coming out of the woodwork? It's most often used to refer to a drove or mass group of something appearing rapidly. Historically, I believe it was meant to refer to insects swarming out of wooden structures.
Well this comic made me think of that. As you can see, enthusiasts of gardening, baseball and automobiles are appearing out of the ground where they bundled down during the winter.
Cute, huh?

@LindaOHio I really should be getting outside and walking again, so I should be happy about spring. I'm just upset because we didn't get any of that S word down here in NC.
