Augie who was a homeless male Beagle who lived in Susquehanna Pennsylvania found a home for life with the Susquehanna Police in September 2020. Normally due to my knowledge of dogs that are adopted by a police department as mascots are usually German Shepherds or Labrador Retrievers. The Susquehanna police officers like Augie since he brings them joy just being around them to cheer them up when they go through the bumps and bruises of their daily jobs of serving their community. I believe that dogs are now being adopted by police officers to pick up their spirits just like dogs are the support team of firefighters.

My late dog Wimpy who was a mixed breed Beagle dog was one of my best friends I ever had.

That is true since it seems to be a trend for police departments to adopt a dog for the morale of the officers to feel good after a stressful day.

You are right since a dog likes to be loved by humans who really care.

It seems that Labradors and German shepherds can be trained for a lot of things. But police officers also need a sweet dog to bring them joy, as you say.

This is a wonderful thing. I wish more police officers would adopt homeless dogs.
