Day 214 Promise 679 Hebrews 12:18 For ye are not come unto the mount that might be touched, and that burned with fire, nor unto blackness, and darkness, and tempest, 19 And the sound of a trumpet, and the voice of words; which voice they that heard intreated that the word should not be spoken to them any more: 20 (For they could not endure that which was commanded, and if so much as a beast touch the mountain, it shall be stoned, or thrust through with a dart: 21 And so terrible was the sight, that Moses said, I exceedingly fear and quake:) 22 But ye are come unto Mount Zion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels, 23 To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect, 24 And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaks better things than that of Abel. 25 See that ye refuse not him who speaks. For if they escaped not who refused him who spoke on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from him who speaks from heaven: 26 Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven. Examples of how you should live and behave are everywhere. Your parents pointed them out when you were young. Your teachers taught you in school. You saw evidence of good and bad behavior in school and the workplace. The writer of Hebrews told the people not to behave as their forefathers did who wandered in the wilderness and heard God’s voice but begged Moses not to let God speak to them directly. Instead, the writer to the Hebrews told the people they were to look instead to the heavenly Mount Zion and the place where God dwells in heaven. They were to see their example in Jesus Christ who lived among them and died for them then rose the third day to be their mediator between God and man when they fell short of God’s glory. Romans 3:21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; 22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them who believe: for there is no difference: 23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; 24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: 25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; 26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believes in Jesus. As Christians, you will fall short of God’s glory every day. You need to set your example in Jesus Christ and confess your sin. Then Jesus will go to the Father on your behalf to clear you of any guilt through His blood. Remember, Jesus said He is coming back. When He does, He will shake the earth by His power because people refused to acknowledge Him as Savior and Lord. Romans 8:34 Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, yea rather, who is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. Haggai 2:6 For thus says the LORD of hosts; Yet once, it is a little while, and I will shake the heavens, and the earth, and the sea, and the dry land; 7 And I will shake all nations, and the desire of all nations shall come: and I will fill this house with glory, says the LORD of hosts. 8 The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, says the LORD of hosts. 9 The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former, says the LORD of hosts: and in this place will I give peace, says the LORD of hosts. Revelation 1:7 Behold, he comes with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen. Don’t be among those who wail when Jesus returns. Be among those who rejoice at His coming because you will ever be with the Lord. Let’s pray: Father, let Your promise of eternal life live in me as I live for You and do Your will. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. The book of Hebrews is written to those who become believers after the rapture or gathering together. The truths still apply to everyone. This one is a lot to think about and dwell on, Valerie.

It was written to the Hebrews of that time. I've never heard about it being for after the rapture. I agree, the truths are timeless. Yes, there's a lot to think about in Hebrews.
