How do you handle topic changers?

Before a few days, I want to discuss something about my academics in my family meeting but somehow the topics got changed to the movies and songs and I don't get an opportunity to discuss about that matter after that.
How do you tackle this situation? Have you ever faced something similar to this before?

It's very common. People tend to get derailed. Sometimes it happens naturally and unknowingly but there are times some people do it with an intention as they are not interested in it or just want to overlook it.
You will have to bring everyone's attention and then discuss it.

After bringing everyone's attention, this was happening.

@arunima25 Some people behave childish in public. This was the reason.

@Lignitecityabishek96 Oh! So sorry about it. Maybe you should try it again and this time with some firm tone.
Hope it works. Any reason you feel might have caused it?

It happens quite often. Of course, every response and comment counts towards your earnings, no matter whether it's on topic or not. If I'm nit too worried about it, I'll usually let it take its course but if I felt that the discussion was getting too out of hand, I would use my privilege as the OP to delete those responses and comments which I felt were leading the discussion off topic, (though I might wait an hour or so until the earnings had updated!). I have only used that solution once or twice in all the years I've been here.

@Lignitecityabishek96 Your original post wasn't clear that you were talking about real time discussions, so it was natural to assume that you meant 'on myLot'. Now that you've edited it, I see what you mean.
I would try to be a little assertive, in that case, perhaps introducing your topic in a different way. You might also write that session off and try to get people to discuss your topic another time.

This does happen a lot on myLot, you start a discussion on one thing and end up chatting about something completely different. Perhaps you could write another discussion on the original subject but word it differently.
