Day 215 Promise 680 Hebrews 13:5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. (KJV) How many people have let you down? How many people said they would be there, and weren’t? In a society where everyone looks out for number one, and focuses on their needs, it’s hard to find anyone you can rely on. The writer to the Hebrews told them there was one person they could rely on, God. He told them He would never leave them or forsake them. He also told them their lives should reflect kindness, not covetousness. As Christians, it’s comforting to know God will never leave us or forsake us, no matter what we’re going through. Isaiah 43:2 When thou pass through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walk through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. Deuteronomy 31:6 Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. (KJV) Daniel 3:25 He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God. (KJV) With God by your side, you can face your giants as David did, face famine as Elijah did, face poverty as the widow with the oil did, and face death knowing that God will always be with you. He will protect you, provide for you, and bring you out of every trouble. Let’s pray: Father, when I feel abandoned, remind me You are always with me. You will never leave me or forsake me.
