Day 219 Promise 684 James 1:19 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath: 20 For the wrath of man works not the righteousness of God. 21 Wherefore, lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which can save your souls. One of the biggest complaints is that people don’t listen. They speak first, interrupt, or walk away angry. Anger never solved anything. It usually made things worse. James told the people they were to be quick to listen, not interrupt, and slow to anger. When they did, they would hear God’s Word, and receive it with meekness, thus saving their souls. As Christians, you need to listen. Keep quiet while others talk so you hear everything. When you do, you won’t get angry. You will understand the situation, and act accordingly. Anger never solved anything but incited people against your intentions which is to draw people to God, not separate them from Him. Your goal is to do everything out of meekness and love. Put away all selfish behavior that causes trouble and let God’s Word bind your soul to Him for your salvation. Let’s pray: Father, help me listen more and speak less. Let Your Word bind my soul to You. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. Copyright © 18 March 2021 by Valerie Routhieaux Image courtesy of Pixabay

I've always been a successful problem solver throughout my career because I've always been a great listener and empathizer. Taking the time to listen and understand things from other's perspective has served me well. It is great Biblical advice, as well as great business advice.

I did a Sunday school lesson once on the difference between listening and hearing, they are different. Great reminder. Have a blessed day.
