biscuits and gravy for dinner

Remember a few weeks ago when my refrigerator died? We still haven't received the check from the manufacturer to replace it, so we've been living out of the small fridge in the garage and a few coolers. I have a lot less room for storing food now, which requires me to either grocery shop more often (more expensive) or to use up things in the freezer (cheaper option, but I'm running out of proteins). I haven't been able to do a decent Costco run in a while, so I've had to get creative with meals. I did have some Jimmy Dean sausage and a half-gallon of milk in the freezer (the milk was a free cull from work and I stuck it in the freezer to keep it from spoiling, knowing that while the kids won't drink pre-frozen milk, I can cook with it), so I decided to make some biscuits and gravy for dinner. There wasn't quite enough sausage to make a full protein serving for everyone and I didn't want to scramble eggs, so I pulled some pineapple smoked sausages out of the freezer too. Dinner is going on the table soon: biscuits, sausage gravy, smoked sausages, sauteed greens and broccoli, and some orange juice.
